The weather was beautiful, albeit a tad hot, this past Saturday at the Old River Shopping Center in Rocky River. Packed tightly with beer and wine lovers alike, The Sunflower Wine & Craft Beer Festival was a definite hit among its thousands of visitors!
Included in admission to the wine and craft beer gardens was ten (very generous) tastings from any of the attending wineries and craft breweries.
Guests enjoyed wine from nationally renowned wineries like William Hill, Simi, Sebastiani, Bridlewood Estate Winery, Kenwood Vineyards, among many others. In addition to the wine that was flowing, a large variety of beer was available for tasting as well! Breweries at the Sunflower festival included Elevator Brewing Co, Goose Island, Kona Brewing Co, Red Hook, and more.
The Sunflower Wine & Craft Beer Festival also welcomed a variety of tasty food trucks and food vendors to the event. Visitors enjoyed sampling dishes from Zydeco Bistro, Touch Supper Club, Dewey’s Pizza, and more.
In addition to food and beverages, visitors also had the opportunity to scoop up some great deals at the Old River Shopping Center sidewalk sale, and they danced and sang along to performances by Cleveland bands Run Avril Run and the Spazmatics.
While the event was a fantastic celebration of wine and craft brews, it was also an amazing fundraiser to benefit Prayers for Maria, the children’s glioma cancer foundation.
We had a fantastic time attending the Sunflower Wine & Craft Beer Festival, and we hope you’ll come out to next year’s event! We also encourage you to learn more about this great organization by visiting their website and reading their story.
