This past Saturday the Greater Cleveland Aquarium transformed Windows on the River and the aquarium into a night of murder, mystery, and mayhem at their first ever Murder Mystery night!

Our host for the evening

Murder “suspect” Captain Neo mingling before dinner
The evening started out with a few minutes of mingling, sipping cocktails, and getting seated as the aquarium’s murder “suspects” interacted with the guests. This was followed by a few quick announcements and a welcoming by the host, and then a delicious dinner prepared by Windows on the River’s banquet staff.
The dinner was a filling three-course meal comprised of a fresh salad and bread; followed by an entree choice of prime rib, chicken, eggplant parmesan, or salmon; topped off with a tasty slice of cheesecake with raspberry sauce for dessert!
After dinner an abrupt announcement was made: there was a murderer on the loose in the aquarium! After being given a quick overview of all of the suspects, we were sent to the aquarium with a mission: to solve the mystery and reveal the guilty suspect!
We were encouraged to chat with the many suspects and aquarium staff while we investigated the aquarium. We gathered as much information as we could to help crack the case!
There was more to enjoy than just solving a murder mystery though, as we were invited to explore the beautiful aquarium itself, check out the many exhibits, and chat with the experts about all of the amazing things we found.

We had the chance to hang out with this cool guy
We saw this guy swimming with the sharks

And we got the chance to touch the stingrays
Overall, this first murder mystery event was the perfect night out: from the delicious dinner, to the interactive murder mystery, to having the opportunity to check out the aquarium after-hours! This is a must-do for anyone looking for a good time, and a little mayhem!
Consider scheduling a visit to the Greater Cleveland Aquarium for the whole family sometime soon! This Cleveland gem is the only free-standing aquarium in Ohio, and it includes 35 exhibits in 10 different galleries. It’s a great family-friendly activity that kids and adults alike are sure to enjoy. For more information, check out their website!
