Tomorrow is Mardi Gras, French for Fat Tuesday, the day before various Christian denominations begin the observation of Lent. It gets its name from the custom of marking the day with feasting before the fasting season of Lent begins. Mardi Gras is a fun celebration of food, drinks, masks, and beads, and you certainly don’t need to be in New Orleans to participate. Consider celebrating with some of these fun Cleveland events:
Mardi Gras 2013 at Jezebel’s Bayou

Jezebel’s Bayou will be transforming into New Orleans for the day. Check out this bash featuring beads, crawfish boils, and bands playing in a tent out back. The music starts at 5:00 p.m. and features Universal Mob Funk and the Swamp Boogie Band.

Visit the House of Blues for a free evening of music by Blues Chronicles, a happy hour party from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., and Mardi Gras food and drink specials. The Blues Chronicles will be playing from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. and there is no cover charge for the show.
